Privacy Policy

What the Compass website keeps about you, why, and for how long.

Last updated 3 October 2026

Signing in

You sign in with Discord. Discord tells us your user ID, username, display name and profile picture, and the servers you’re in, from which we keep the ones you own or can manage so the dashboard can list them. We never see your Discord password or email address, and we can’t read your messages.

Your sign-ins

Each time you sign in, we keep which browser and system you used and your IP address, so you can see and end your sign-ins on the Sessions page. We keep up to your 10 most recent sign-ins. Each lasts a week unless an older one is replaced or you sign out. Expired sign-ins stop working immediately, and their stored details are removed during hourly cleanup.

Applying to the team

If you apply to join the Compass team, we keep your answers for the team to review.

We ask for your date of birth to check you meet our requirements. We don’t keep it. If you don’t meet the requirements, we keep a note of that against your Discord account for 30 days so the check can’t simply be retried, and then delete it. That note never includes your date of birth, and it stays for the 30 days even if you delete your account.

The Compass bot

The Compass bot keeps its own data, such as your badges, your premium slots and the settings of servers that use it. The website shows you this data and lets server managers change their server’s settings.

Cookies and your browser

We use one cookie to keep you signed in, and a short-lived one while you’re signing in with Discord. Your browser also remembers a few small things for you, like announcements you’ve closed. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.

Other services

Signing in goes through Discord, and the website’s font is loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google when you visit.

Your choices

On your Privacy and security page you can sign out everywhere or delete your account, which deletes your sign-ins and team applications. To have the bot’s data about you removed too, contact Compass support.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
